What an amazing way to discover the beauty and the Indigenous history of Edmonton’s river valley. It was a perfect day for this 5 km discovery tour guided by Keith, a proud Métis Canadian, founder of Talking Rock Tours.

Beginning at the burial grounds at Rosedale Flats, we held a smudging ceremony, then walked on to the original site of Fort Edmonton behind the Legislature and across the Low Level Bridge. We followed the river valley trails to the Indigenous Art Park, learning along the way. Keith is incredibly knowledgeable. The scenery was amazing and the weather could not have been better.

As there were only two of us on this tour, it was up close and personal. I highly recommend this unique way to discover the history of our Edmonton River Valley.
